Hi everyone!
I just got back from an exhilarating two-week trip in India, where I had the chance to visit some of our current customers and also meet a set of new prospects. Here’s the scoop on what I learned: why India’s tech scene is booming and why Kloudfuse is the perfect match for companies in this evolving market.
India’s Tech Revolution: Cloud and Digital Transformation
India’s tech industry is on fire right now! The pace of innovation here is truly ahead of the game—actually way ahead of what we’re seeing in the US. Companies in India are diving deep into cloud and container technology, and it’s incredibly inspiring to witness this progress, especially considering that over two decades ago, when I grew up there, the cloud-native revolution was nowhere in sight.
As applications move to the cloud and are now built on microservices and container technologies, data volumes are skyrocketing, and companies are scrambling to find ways to optimize costs. Additionally, with the likes of Sumo Logic and New Relic pulling out of the Indian market, there’s a significant gap in terms of data residency and sovereignty. So, many companies are deciding whether to build their own solutions in-house or explore alternative options.
The Mobile Revolution: A Surge in FinTech, Gaming, and Consumer Services
On top of that, India is a mobile-first country. With data rates as low as 10 rupees (just about 12 cents USD) for 1 GB, mobile apps and digital payments like UPI (Unified Payments Interface) are everywhere. This mobile-centric approach means that fintech, gaming, entertainment, and other consumer services need top-notch insights into their apps and services.
For these companies, commercial SaaS observability platforms just aren’t cutting it anymore—they’re too expensive and don’t provide the holistic view from user monitoring to infrastructure metrics to logs. Companies are facing a tough choice: either find another commercial solution or build their own observability systems from scratch. For those considering the latter, I’ve spoken to many CTOs who estimate needing anywhere from 12 to 24 additional engineers to build and maintain a high-quality observability system.
This is where Kloudfuse was received exceptionally well. With our unified platform, built on an observability data lake, we not only offer a full-stack solution but also one that meets the data volume requirements of these companies at a much lower cost, without the need to hire additional engineers headcount.
Pharma, HealthTech, and InsurTech: The Open Source Dilemma
I also met with folks in Pharma, HealthTech, and InsurTech, where data security and privacy are top concerns. Many of these companies are leaning towards open source solutions because commercial vendors often don’t meet their data residency and compliance needs. But open source isn’t a perfect fix either—it comes with its own set of challenges, like the high cost of building and maintaining the solution.
That’s where Kloudfuse really shines, offering a VPC deployment to address data security and privacy concerns without breaking the bank. We support all major open source telemetry and query language components and have ready-to-use cookbooks for OpenTelemetry implementation.
Why Kloudfuse is the Clear Winner
In every meeting, it was clear that Kloudfuse stands out from the crowd. CTOs and Cloud Engineering leaders were genuinely impressed by what we bring to the table:
Log Fingerprinting: Simplifies log management with enhanced search, analytics, and optimized storage.
Detailed APM Analysis: Provides deep insights into application performance through distributed tracing, integrated with logs and metrics.
RUM and Digital User Experience: Offers a better understanding of user interactions with apps—a feature currently in beta and coming soon.
Observability Data Lake: Delivers real-time, ultra-fast analytics and scalability as data volumes grow.
Data Security and Privacy: Ensures data security and compliance with VPC deployments, keeping data close to home.
In short, Kloudfuse offers a killer combination of high-volume observability data, top-notch security, and unification across metrics, events, logs, and traces. We are making waves in the Indian market and we’re seeing great results with our current customers and the new prospects.
Looking Ahead
My trip confirmed just how impactful Kloudfuse can be in this exciting market. As we grow our presence in India, we’re dedicated to helping companies tackle their observability needs with a unified, cost-effective, and open source compatible approach.
Stay tuned for more updates as we continue this exciting journey!
